Before starting, check that there is enough space on the computer. Please consult the map size on the ‘My downloads’ page.
Click on the ‘Download’ button and select ‘Download Map’ and then ‘Download License’ to download both files.
The file will be downloaded automatically.
Note: If your vehicle is an Alfa Romeo, Maps for Navi System ‘MY 16-19’ and ‘MY20’ are never interchangeable. Therefore please make sure you select the correct Navi System.
If the files are compressed in a ZIP folder, they must be extracted before saving them onto the flash drive.
Check that there is enough space on the USB flash drive to save the map and license. This requires a minimum 32-GB USB flash drive. (License is not applicable to Uconnect 5 NAV system)
Note: If your vehicle is an Alfa Romeo, usage of exFat or NTFS formatting are required. For Fiat or RAM a FAT32 formatting is required.
How to format your USB flash drive.
Plug-in your drive into the Windows computer's USB port.
Open up ‘File Explorer’ and right-click on the drive.
In the ‘File System’ dropdown, choose ‘exFAT’, ‘NTFS’ or ‘FAT32’.
Click ‘Start’ and close this window when finished.
Plug-in your drive into the Mac computer's USB port.
Open up ‘Disk Utility’, select the USB drive and click on ‘Erase’.
Type the formatted disk name and choose ‘exFAT’ or ‘MS-DOS’ (FAT32).
Click ‘Erase’, the operation might take some time depending on the USB flash drive size.
Save the files of the map and license onto the flash drive without placing them in a folder.
Start the engine and switch on the radio.
Plug the flash drive into the USB port.
Follow the instructions that appear automatically on the navigator screen.
Note: If your vehicle is an Alfa Romeo, select ‘System’ on the main menu of the radio, then ‘Map Update’ and finally ‘Update Map’.
The system will prompt you to delete the previously installed map. Confirm and proceed with the installation.
The installation process will take about one hour. The radio must stay on during this time.
